History

NAAIA Dallas Fort Worth

NAAIA-Dallas Fort Worth became the first local chapter to be established in the western part of the country.  The Dallas Chapter was ratified unanimously on December 18, 2008 by the NAAIA National Board.  Under the leadership of Chapter President Brent Jenkins with 22 members becoming an officially chartered chapter of NAAIA.  The organization was incorporated in 2009.

The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) was founded by Jerald L. Tillman in 1997 with the goal of providing a platform for Black insurance professionals to connect, learn and grow. Tillman saw a need for greater representation in the industry, particularly in leadership positions, and decided to take action.​Today, we have over 2,500 members and 24 chapters across the United States, making us the largest and longest-serving association dedicated to Black insurance professionals.NAAIA is committed to diversifying the insurance industry’s talent landscape and transforming the way we nurture, invite, develop and advance underrepresented talent in the industry.

We are committed to empowering Black professionals by providing a supportive environment where education, mentorship, and networking flourish. Our philosophy centers on fostering growth, celebrating achievements, and driving systemic change to create a more inclusive and equitable industry.
